What are your Terms and Conditions of Sale?

We reserve the right to change or discontinue any product, prices, or other content listed on this site. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

By bidding on / purchasing an item, you are noting your acceptance of the following terms and conditions:

Returns Policy
All auction sales are subject to the same NO HASSLE GUARANTEE of all West Marine products. If, for any reason, you are dissatisfied with any purchase, for any reason, simply return it to us. We’ll repair or replace the item, credit your account, or send you a prompt refund. West Marine is not able to offer any warranty beyond what the manufacturer may offer. Refurbished items carry a 90-day warranty. If an item is defective, we will replace it or refund your money at our discretion, within 90 days of receipt of the product.

Payment Information
CREDIT CARDS ONLY: Payment is acceptable via Visa/MasterCard,Discover, American Express and the West Marine credit card. Sorry, we do not accept PayPal, personal checks, money orders, or CODs.

You will receive e-mail instructions withinone day of the end of the auction with a link that will allow you to complete your transaction.
Please be aware that after 7 days, your checkout link will automatically be disabled, and your item possibly resold. If you are unable to complete this transaction within the 7 day window, please contact customer service at auction@westmarine.com.

Shipping Charges
We ship items worldwide, provided they are not hazardous materials or forbidden by law. All orders are shipped via Ground shipping within the 48 contiguous States and only via Express shipping to Alaska and Hawaii. Express shipping is optional to the 48 contiguous states. Shipping and handling charges vary by product and are detailed in each listing's item description. Please refer to individual listings to find applicable shipping and handling charges. At time of checkout, you will be prompted to select desired shipping method - Ground or Express Shipping. The appropriate charges will then be automatically added to your order. We can combine shipping for multiple items. All items will be shipped to winning bidders from our warehouse ONLY; we do not have the ability to do customer pick-ups from any of our store locations. Seller isresponsible for loss or damage that occurs during shipping, and any related insurance cost is included in the shipping and handling charge.

HAZARDOUS ITEMS: Hazardous or Toxic items such as paint, flares, fire extinguishers, batteries, epoxies, compressed gas and some cleaners cannot be shipped to international destinations.

TRUCK FREIGHT: For heavy or oversized items, defined as anything over 150 lb or having a combined length and girth over 130 inches. These items are not available for shipping outside the continental US.

Sales Tax
Sales Tax is additional and is added to your order total during checkout. Sales tax will be charged or West Marine will apply sales tax during checkout for all sales. State and local taxes will be applied to the final purchase price based on the delivery address. Note that taxes are based on order total, including shipping charges. We are required by law to charge these taxes. DO NOT BID IF YOU OBJECT TO PAYING SALES TAX.

Order Processing
Within a day of the auction closing, youwill receive an email from West Marine which will provide a link for you to pay and provide your shipping address. Once you have placed your order you willreceive a confirmation of your order via email containing the product name and number, and total cost. Orders will ship within four business days after youreceive an Order Confirmation email.

Shipment Tracking
Upon shipment, you will receive a ShippingConfirmation email, which will include your Shipment Tracking Number. You can use this number to track the status of your package online.

Liability Limit
In no event shall West Marine, itssubsidiaries, affiliates, or suppliers be liable for any special, direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising out of or in connectionwith the products or bids placed on eBay, eBay's services of these terms and conditions (however arising, including negligence), including lost profits,whether or not the possibility of such damages was, or could have been, known. The liability of West Marine, Inc., its subsidiaries, affiliates, andsuppliers, and the respective employees, to you or any third parties in any circumstance is limited to the greater of (a) the amount paid by you for theproduct purchased hereunder, and (b) $100.

Product Questions

What if I have a specific question about the product I am interested in bidding on?
Please be sure to read the title and entire description carefully; most of the time you can find the answer in the title or description. You can also try copying the Model Number from the end of the auction ad, and paste it into the search box at http://www.westmarine.com/ to see if the product exists on our website. If you find that you still have a product question, please use the following Web Form to contact us and one of our agents will do their best to answer your question.

I saw something on auction in the past, or I did not win the item I wanted-will it be posted again?
Please visit the West Marine Store on eBay by clicking on the link below to search our current inventory. We add new merchandise every day. Can I just call up and purchase the item I see on auction?
At this time we are unable to facilitate direct sales outside of our current auctions unless the Buy It Now option is available on the auction ad. Otherwise, the price is always determined by the winning bid.

What is a hazardous item?
Hazardous or toxic items such as paint, flares, fire extinguishers, batteries, epoxies, compressed gas and some cleaners cannot be shipped to international destinations.

Do products come with warranty?
For all ‘new’ items, if the manufacturer offers a warranty, then it is included with the item and will be listed in the posting. If the manufacturer does not offer a warranty and you receive a defective product, please contact us immediately. ‘Refurbished’ items do not carry manufacturer’s warranties, however, if you experience trouble with the item in the first 90 days, please contact us and we will replace it with another refurbished item if possible, repair it, if possible, or refund your money.

When does my warranty period start?
Warranty on your product begins on the date of purchase.

Payment/Checkout Questions

How long do I have to checkout and pay for my item after the auction ends?
You have seven (7) days to complete checkout after the end of auction. Please be aware that after 7 days, your checkout link will automatically be disabled, and your item possibly resold. If you are unable to complete this transaction within the 7 day window, please contact customer service through our Web Form.

How do I complete checkout?
When you are the high bidder or if you "buy it now" on an item, you will receive an email from West Marine within 24 hours of the end of auction or Buy It Now confirmation with a link to checkout. You must use this link that takes you to a West Marine checkout page. You will receive an email from eBay alerting you that you won, but you must only check out through West Marine. We only accept credit cards through our West Marine site checkout, and no other forms of eBay related payment.

What payment method do you accept?
Payment is acceptable via West Marine Credit Card, Visa/MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit cards. Sorry, we do not accept PayPal, personal checks, money orders, or CODs.

Can I pay with a check, money order or pick my item up at a store?
At this time, West Marine will accept credit card payments only through our online checkout - NO Exceptions. Please be aware that after 7 days, your checkout link will automatically be disabled, and your item possibly re-sold. If you are unable to complete this transaction within the 7-day window of the auction closing, please contact West Marine's customer service through our Web Form. We accept West Marine Credit Cards, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Items are not available for pick up from any store or warehouse location, all items must be shipped to the winning bidder.

Do you accept Paypal?
Sorry, we do not accept PayPal.

I purchased multiple items; can I combine checkout and shipping?

Can I ship my item to a different address then my credit card address?
Yes, just enter the address in the ship to section of the checkout screen.

How do I know my payment has been received?
A successful checkout screen will be displayed upon completion of checkout on our secure site.

The checkout link I received in my email does not appear to be working. What should I do?
If your link does not work directly from your email, try cutting and pasting the link into your browser's address bar. If you still have trouble accessing the checkout page, please contact us through our Web Form. Include the text of the error you are getting or a description of what is wrong.

Sales Tax Questions

Do you charge sales tax, if so, in what states does it apply?
Yes, all companies are required by state and local tax authorities to pay sales tax on all items that are sold in or shipped to a location within a state that has a physical presence. Since West Marine has more than 250 stores across the United States, we are required to charge state sales tax on all purchases made in states in which we have stores or warehouses. State and local taxes will be applied to the final purchase price based on the delivery address.

I have a reseller/tax exemption certificate; do I have to pay sales tax?
Yes, you will have to pay tax. We do not accept reseller or tax exemption certificates for our auctions sold on eBay.

Why is tax charged for shipping and handling?
Most states treat shipping and handling as a value-added service that is considered taxable. The combined cost of shipping and handling is utilized to assess amount of sales tax to be charged.

Shipping Questions

What shipping method do you use?
All orders are shipped via Federal Express Ground service.

How much do I pay for shipping and handling?
Shipping and handling charges vary by product and are estimated in each listing's item description. Please refer to individual listings to find applicable estimated shipping and handling charges. Exact shipping charges will be calculated at the close of auction, based on your shipping location and may vary slightly from the estimated charge listed on the auction ad.

Does insurance cost extra?
All shipments are insured for damage and the insurance costs are included in the shipping and handling charges.

How long does it take to ship my item?
Orders will ship within four business days after you receive an Order Confirmation email.

How long will it take for my item to arrive? Please allow 2-8 business days for transit time, depending on your ship-to location. We do not ship on Saturday, Sunday, or Holidays.

Do you ship to P.O. Boxes/APO/FPOs?
No, we can not deliver to PO Boxes, but we can deliver to APO/FPO addresses.

Do you ship to Hawaii/Alaska?

Yes, we can deliver to Hawaii or Alaska.

Do you ship to US Provinces?

Yes, we can ship to US Provinces.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we can ship internationally. However, hazardous or toxic items such as paint, flares, fire extinguishers, batteries, epoxies, compressed gas and some cleaners cannot be shipped to international destinations. Heavy or oversized items, defined as anything over 150 lb or having a combined length and girth over 130 inches, are not available for shipping outside the continental US. 

Are shipping charges negotiable?
No, shipping charges is not negotiable. Our shipping and handling charges is calculated at the time of checkout and dependent upon the packed dimension and weight of your product. Insurance coverage for any damage that may occur during transit is included.

How do I know my order has been shipped?
Upon shipment, you will receive a Shipping Confirmation email, which will include your Shipment Tracking Number. You can use this number to track the status of your package online.

How do I check the status of my order?
Upon shipment, you will receive a Shipping Confirmation email, which will include your Shipment Tracking Number. You can use this number to track the status of your package online at www.fedex.com. Please wait 24 hours from the time you receive your shipping confirmation email for updated tracking information.

Can I change my ship to address after I checked out?
For your security, once you check out you cannot change your shipping address.

I have not received my order yet, who should I contact?
If your order has not arrived after 2 weeks of payment, please use the following Web Form to contact us, please include the eBay item ID and order number and one of our agents will help you within 72 hours.

What is the West Marine Guarantee?
If, for any reason, you are dissatisfied with any purchase, for any reason, simply return it to us. We’ll repair or replace the item, credit your account, or send you a prompt refund.

What is the return and exchange policy?
By definition, all auction sales are final, please carefully read the item descriptions and ask us any questions BEFORE placing your bid. If your item arrives damaged or otherwise does not match expectations based on the auction ad, please contact us and we will work with you to correct the situation.

My product arrived but it does not work, who should I contact?
